A long time ago in a galaxy far far away ……………….
Well, maybe not, but it sounded good .
FireStar really came about as a result of a conversation during a Mining operation where several people realised that they had the same issues with the Corp they were in at the time, it had come about as a result of a merger between several Corps a few months earlier and had rapidly expanded. Unfortunately, the Directors were all used to running their own Corps and continued to run the new corp in the same way. This led to poor communication and confusion as different Directors pushed their own views and ideas.
After this had gone on for a couple of months, several of the more active members were becoming increasing frustrated with this position as they could all see how things could be done differently and much more profitably.

These discussions continued for a week or so and culminated in a conversation between JBX Kyan and Zorall on 1st August 2004. 24 hours later FireStar was formed.
Zorall joined JBX Kyan in FireStar on 6th August and they began planning the course for the new Corp to ensure that it benefited it’s members and restored the ‘fun’ element that had been lost from their previous Corp.
At around this same time their previous Corp began to disintegrate, real life issues on the part of some of the senior members restricted their available time and, several left to form new Corps of their own. Many of the newer members requested to join FireStar as they had gotten to know JBX Kyan and Zorall well over the previous weeks, whilst most of the more experienced players moved onto new challenges in new Corps.
Building on this influx of new members, FireStar began to slowly expand, not wanting to make the mistake of expanding to fast and becoming impersonal. Initially FireStar concentrated heavily on mining and production to establish itself a sound financial footing, we were very soon building and selling in excess of 100 ships per month on the markets and to order.

By the beginning of 2005, many of the friends of JBX Kyan and Zorall that moved on to new Corps had joined FireStar bringing new skills, ideas and experiences with them from their various Corps. Whilst not a large Corp in terms of members, the skills, abilities and experience of the members of FireStar made it a powerful Corp in it’s home region.
At this same time it was decided to improve the experience and enjoyment of our members by setting up our own forums (thanks to IceDK) for communication as well as a dedicated hosted Teamspeak server.
Always looking for a new challenge, FireStar joined its first Alliance in February 2005. This was a steep learning curve for many of the members and gave FireStar its first taste of Alliance Wars in Empire against several Merc Corps. Learning quickly from their initial experiences, FireStar conducted several successful campaigns. At the end of the last Empire war members were eager to join their Alliance colleagues in 0.0 space.
Shortly after moving to 0.0 space FireStar found itself in another Alliance War, this time with Red Alliance where once again the members, although not being pure pvp’ers acquitted themselves well with a kill:loss ratio well in their favour.

During this time however the members started to become disillusioned with the Alliance as it became apparent that some of the people and some of the member corps had no real interest in fighting for their Alliance, and also whilst the Alliance had a vision for it’s future it was just not practical at the time from the position it was in. This resulted in members spending less time online as once again the ‘fun’ element was disappearing from the game as they became called on increasingly to support the Alliance and had no time to do anything else they wanted to.

As the whole purpose for FireStar is for a Group of friends to enjoy one of the best games ever released (to date anyway) the decision was made to withdraw from the Alliance in late April 2005. This was not an easy decision to make as there were a lot of good people, that we had gotten to know well, but in the circumstances it was the only choice available. Despite the Alliance not working out in the long term, we did learn a lot in our time there, both in terms of how to and how not to do things, and for that we thank our ex Alliance

After returning to Empire, FireStar quickly set about rebuilding recovering from the financial losses that it and it’s members had suffered during it’s time in the Alliance as well as recruiting new like minded individuals into the Corp via the training Academy that it had set up to help new players to the game during it’s time in the Alliance so safeguarding them from hostilities

Since returning to Empire, we have been involved in a few ‘skirmishes’ where the skills developed during the recent wars we were involved in were put to good use. Whilst we are not a PvP Corp and do not go looking for a fight, we have demonstrated that if someone brings the fight to us, we are ready and able to stand our ground

FireStar is now stronger than ever before with all the experiences it’s long standing members have gained as well as an excellent and valuable group of new members.

Always looking for a new challenge and in order to use what they learned from their previous Alliance experience, FireStar along with one or two close allies founded their own Alliance (Distant Star).
This brought on the inevitable wars as various Pirate and Mercenary Corps decided to test the resolve of this new Alliance. Both FireStar and the Alliance emerged from these conflicts intact.

After several successful months, many of the founding corps were ready to move on to new challenges which would lead them in different directions and so the Alliance was dissolved.
After considering all of the offers being made, FireStar selected the one that they felt would allow the Corp to continue to grow whilst allowing the members to continue with all of their activities, just moving them to the next level, and relocated to a new region of space giving ourselves a better strategic location from which to pursue our long term objectives.
Now operating primarily deep in 0.0 space FireStar rose to these new challenges and quickly established itself in it’s new home and continues to work towards it’s next big step forward in the Eve universe.

We continue to grow and look forward to future challenges ………………….

If you think you are up to the challenge,
please evemail JBX Kyan or MorphDK for info on joining FireStar
